Our Story

Ashley Family Hub opened in September 2016 to offer local families a one stop shop for advice and signposting to other services.

After the closure of the Children’s Centre in New Milton we recognised that there was a need for a central place where advice and support could be obtained by parents easily and informally. We also wanted to establish a welcoming and friendly resource for the local community.

A collaboration between Ashley Infant School, Ashley Junior School, Arnewood School and Ashley Baptist Church ensured has the Family Hub runs weekly during term time.

We have also been supported by a grant from Radian Housing, and donations from New Milton Town Council and New Milton Residents Association.

The hub has successfully supported many families since opening, offering a relaxed place for parents to come and chat over a cup of coffee, signposting to other services when families have a specific need, workshops and courses to support parents and visiting experts who can offer advice. We have also supported many parents of children with Special Educational Needs with practical advice and a listening ear.

We have also partnered with the child health clinic who continue to run a health visitor led clinic on the first Tuesday of every month. Family support and parenting advisors are available every week without appointment.

In recognition of the valuable work we do we are the New Milton Mayors Charity for 2019-20. This is a fantastic accolade and will raise the profile of the Hub throughout the local area.

Come and join us for a chat or advice every Tuesday in Term Time!
